chez panisse vegetables is my poduce bible; whenever i see a copy i buy it, new or use, and gift it at random. I do the same with "Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant;" if you have not read this yet, i recommend it for its empathy and humour. Let it be a gift to yourself...

So many things on this list I either have or want! All the canal house cookbooks are fabulous but I really want the Chez Panisse Vegetables cookbook- the prints by Patricia Curan are gorgeous! Maybe I need one to keep and one to tear apart to hang on my walls.
