I had this breakfast over the weekend. I had forgotten about oatmeal and how simple and delicious it can be in the winter. I cooked the oatmeal in a mixture of almond milk and water, sweetened a little with stevia and topped with a few almonds and a scoop of B.P.B. warm and delicious!

I have been trying out a new fitness plan using the 5K runner app. It is going well so far (I am on week 4); it's kind of nice to get out and run in the dead of winter. I have also employed Joslyn's advice of drinking 32 ounces of water in the morning. It really does give you more energy and start the day off right.

Have you been on any new exercise or health kicks?

This looks delicious! Oatmeal is so amazing, but I usually just use instant because I'm lazy!

Your breakfast pictures are always so beautiful- even if it’s just a bowl of oatmeal you make it look fab!

I've been drinking lots of water throughout the day too, seems to make a difference. I’m also starting each day with a green smoothie and setting weekly goals, for example this week’s is ‘think positive’ and ‘hit the cardio hard’. Setting a weekly goal seems to make reaching goals less daunting.

Oh oatmeal, it just never gets old.

I love the idea of adding nut butter and I thin that I will do exactly that - perhaps almond or peanut butter - tomorrow.

Yum, the oatmeal looks delicious. (I also love turning the leftovers into pancakes - they're the best!).

I finished off the Couch to 5K running program right before Christmas and I've just started the 5K-10K. It keeps me accountable and I love the structure of it - I'm terrible at just heading out the door and running for 30 minutes. I feel so much better for doing regular exercise too.

Good job with the running! I took a bit of a running break over December and I am paying for it now. Oatmeal really is the best breakfast. I have been using steel cut oats lately, I really like their texture.

Surely this breakfast is healthy, full of fiber and can loosen up constipation and reduce cholesterol level.

So I just want you to know that you changed everything for me as far as oatmeal goes. I never even considered any sort of nut butter in my oatmeal! But I saw this the other day, and this morning I put a spoonful of sunflower seed butter in my oatmeal with maple syrup and cacao nibs and I couldn't get over how good it was! Thank you so much for the idea!

Nice job on the running. And I totally agree about the water in the morning. Do you ever do hot water with lemon as your first liquid? It's a great alkalinizer and I find its easier to drink hot water first thing than cold, for some reason.

I just started training for a triathalon! Fun to have new exercise goals. Are you going to try a race?

Lovely - one of my favourite. I can't imagine how people can manage without eating breakfasts. It is the best meal of every day!
