aw jen. so sorry. :( this was my favorite mug of yours and i loved seeing it appear and reappear in your breakfasts. i loved that little notch for a tea string -- hopefully you will find another that will become a part of your mornings.

Oh no! How sad :(
I know a place which sells similar crockery in Oxford. Would that be any good?

oh noooo!

any chance to glue it back together at all, even if it's just to hold your pens (second life for my dear scandinavian-themed mug)?

There's a definitely a way to fix that. It would be wasteful to throw it away. Try fixing it with some porcelain glue - it works for me!

I'm so sorry about your beautiful mug. I had a similar experience a few months ago when my beloved handmade mug fell into my too-hard porcelain sink and fell to pieces. What got me especially teary was the fact that it was a companion mug to my husbands. I drank out of that mug every day and haven't been able to find a good replacement just yet. So sorry it happened to you, but I'm sure there is a lovely mug out there that you have yet to meet.

i was in tears when i had to throw out a plate of my late grandmother. so last year at the ars electronica i bought an artsy porcelain gluing kit by the dutch artist lotte dekker.

i did not break any of my mugs or plates ever since!

aw so sad. My mom just told me my kitty knocked over her favorite mug I bought her a few years ago. It was a hand made one with a dragonfly. Kind of sad too :(
