i know this pastry! i think its origin is in italy (especially in naples), and the name of it is "sfogliatella". ricotta cheese is in it, right? i love that! btw, i love this simplicity as always :)
Tomily, you're right. These pastries are called "Sfogliatella" and are often filled with ricotta or with a puddinglike cream that's called "crema" in italy. Italian croissants "cornetti" are also filled with crema. Hmmm buonissimi!!!

yum delicious - we import these tasty morsels into aust but the freshly baked version sitting on a bar in italia w an espresso is heaven!
